Autonomous forklift

The vision of an autonomous forklift truck

From the article:The thing about robots is that every day they get a little better. One day they reach parity with humans in everything. Then the next day they are exceeding humans in everything. In every job category, in every task, robots will replace humans.

I might as well mention that forklifts were the first comercialy used robots in the Star Wars universe. However, even though robots can replace humans, I'm not so sure "everyone" will be replaced. For instance, even though chain resteraunts will be dominated by robots, family owned diners will most likely stay human run. This might not be very signifigant in the overall scheme of things, but it does seem to be woth mentioning.

What are you talking about, "...in the Star Wars universe..."?

There's a Star Wars tabletop RPG, and the discription of a robot for mowing things in warehouses said that it was the first commercialy used robot. Although now that I think about it, it might have had big panels for hands instead of forks.
