AI brakes exist on higher end cars. They should be available on all cars and as a retrofit.

In this case you would still have a crash. To avoid teh crash the other car would have to have AI brakes to stop it from backing out.

Both cars would need dynamic networking and 3 ft GPS in realtime. That is currently reserved for the military.

maybe a very (to the power of 4) weak radio ping could act like a sonar ping. That would be even cheaper. The two cars would know about each other and GPS falls out of the equation.
